Tractor-towed machine for staking grape-vines - has inverted U-frame with uprights having devices for lifting vines, reels for wire and staplers

The machine is towed on the side of a tractor in such a way that the inverted-U-shaped frame rides over the grapevines. The two lifting-devices consist of conical plough-shares, each mounted on the end of a guide-rod the other end of which is in a socket in which is a pivot axle joined to the bottom plate of the machine-frame. The top surface of each plough-share has, preferably cam-mounted tines. A reel held by each of the two uprights of the U-shaped frame has wire running through the guide slot of a roller fixed to a vertical driven shaft. The shaft has a transmission device for the rotary movement of the guide-roller onto a second drive-wheel fixed to a shaft parallel to the first one. A stapling device on each upright clamps the two wires together around the vines and the stakes.
