The machine cuts out sheets into shapes from which they can be formed into cartons, having rotary cylinders, one of which carries the cutting tool. It comprises, arranged in line, a feed mechanism for the blank cardboard sheets, a conveyor and automatic positioning mechanism for the blanks, a mechanism cutting them out to shape and a reception and temporary buffer storage mechanism for the finished articles. All mechanisms are so coordinated that the sheets, before, during and after cutting out, travel over virtually smooth surfaces.
