Halogen bulb adaptor for ophthalmological lamp - has bulb support with halogen bulb mounting in incandescent bulb socket

The adaptor allows use of a pin-type halogen bulb in place of the conventional incandescent type aligned in relation to its base, and is for use in ophthalmological instruments, e.g. slotted lamps or those used for checking sight. The adaptor has a socket of the conventional type as used for an incandescent bulb. A bulb support (4) fits in the incandescent bulb socket (2), and has a mounting (5), preferably hollow and cylindrical, in which the halogen bulb (7) is interchangeably mounted. This bulb is fixed in a cylindrical base (6) in a set position in relation to the lamp filaments. The supporting arm can be so shaped that the axis of the coiled halogen bulb filament coincides with that of the incandescent lamp socket.
