The coupling comprises two stub pipes (4, 6) each having at one end a screw-thread for connection to pipe stock in conventional manner. At their other ends the stubs have respectively a flange and a screw-thread so that these ends can be connected by a nut (12) fitting over the flange. The flange, thread and nut arrangement lies on an axis oblique to the axis of each of the stubs, pref. at 45 deg.. The stubs can be connected at different angles to one another by turning them to different positions about the oblique axis, from a right angle to a 180 deg. straight connection.
