Wettable powders for treating boron deficiency - contg insol alkaline earth borates resistant to rain after foliar application

Wettable powder for foliar treatment of boron deficiency in plants, and which strongly adheres to the leaves, contains a borate (I) of very low water solubility derived from =1 alkaline earth metal, opt. together with an alkali metal. Esp. for treating heart rot in sugar and fodder beets, and similar conditions in maize. The use of a foliar spray prevents accumulation of potentially toxic amounts of B in the soil; (I) are not washed off by rain and are compatible with conventional pesticides and herbicides.
