Alpine to lowland ski adaptor - intermediate block secured between existing toe and heel clamps

An accessory designed to widen the range of a ski (1) in a simple and economic fashion, is e.g. a platform block (4) fixing onto an "alpine" type ski (1) transforming it for lowland usage. The former type ski requires a rigid boot fitting and the latter permits flexible footwear (5) to be worn. This adaptor block locates on the upper ski face, fitting between and being fixed by the conventional toe (2) and heel (3) clamps. Preferably the unit adjusts in length to fit the existing clamps and has lowland type fittings (6), can incorporate an upper sole plate which pivots at its leading edge, and can bear "alpine" type fittings, thus, permitting the relationship between the user's foot and ski length to be varied.
