The vehicle has a linear motor with an inductor (12) with two vertical and parallel faces around a vertical plate, solid with the track. The inductor is guided positively relatively to the plate. The attachment of the motor to the vehicle permits side movement of the vehicle without disturbing the inductor position. Traverses (16) (18) are normally horizontal and perpendicular to the track. From each are fitted so as to swivel parts (32) (34), on axes (38) (42) (36) and are connected to a bracket (44) fitted on a fork part. A coupling rod (46) can transmit tractive forces from the inductor but also allow movement of the vehicle independently.
