Dazzle-free vehicle headlight comprises a parabolic reflector in the focal point of which is mounted a light source and a transparent lens. Between the reflector and lens are spaced parallel laminar elements which lie in a horizontal plane parallel to the optical axis when the headlight is in use. On at least one side of the laminar elements are transverse ribs preventing forwardly directed reflection of light rays incident upon the ribs at an angle to the plane of the laminar elements, so that the laminar elements only allow passage of rays extending parallel to the optical axis.
