Hand grenade safety device - fusible disc between delay charge and detonator prevents misfire

A hand grenade with a capsule ignited by percussion by a spring actuated striker and with a sleeve housing a multi-layered delay charge whose bottom layer ignites the detonator, has a fusible disc e.g. of tin, between the delay charge and the detonator charge so that only the flame and/or hot gases from the final layer of the delay charge can ignite the detonator by melting or bursting the disc. A closure ring is housed in the actuator system, carrying the fusible disc and acting as a mounting device.
