Agitating device for biological assemblies, rotating in biological purificn. tanks, consists of a series of discs parallel to each other and mounted on the same driving shaft to form a drum. A number of such drums are arranged at a constant distance apart so that each drum is over a small trapezoidal tank with a flat base. The drums are stiffened by radial struts. One or more rectilinear scrapers are fixed perpendicularly to the planes of the discs by hooks attached to the radial struts; they produce a degree of turbulence to keep the solid particles in suspension so that they are not deposited on the bases of the small tanks. The rectilinear scraper is made of any flexible material which is not affected by the waste water or by the biological fauna which grows on the disc. The device assures a degree of purifcn. superior to that of stations of the same type without turbulence; the yield is increased and the continuous cleaning of the tanks is avoided.
