The compact, self contained washing and sanitary unit has two separate water tanks and one septic tank. Fresh drinking water is supplied to the drinking fountains, wash basins and shower unit from a fresh water tank. The used water from these units is collected in a second tank after simple, primary filtration. The water from the second tank forms the supply to flush the WC units. The waste from the WC units collects in a septic tank where it is agitated, aerated etc., to allow primary bacteriological processing to take place. At selected points, e.g. on trains travelling at speed away from buit up areas, or over drainage sites, the septic tank can be emptied be remote control.
