The coffee-pot has a cylindrical water vessel surrounded by an insulating jacket. The insulating jacket is provided with a cover with lugs which engage matching lugs in the jacket. The rim of the water vessel is rolled inwards to form a retaining lip for the O-ring. The circular inner lid which is provided with safety valves and has a peripheral lip which is pressed against the O-ring by the internal pressure of the steam from the heated water to form an autoclave type seal. The lid is assembled by passing it through two diametrically opposite slots in the lip before fitting the ring.
