The busbars are mounted parallel to each other in a plane. The switchgear consists of opposite switching cubicles, grouped in phase, with power circuit breakers on both sides of the busbars, with transverse shunt lines and busbar isolators, for respective connection of each circuit breaker with one of the busbar systems. The switching cubicles (A, D; B, E; C, F) are staggered with respect to each other by the spacing between phases so that two opposite circuit breakers (44, 46; 46, 48) belong to two different phases. Transverse shunt lines (26, 28; 28, 30) of these circuit breakers are in pairs in a line, and the busbar systems (10, 12) have separate phases. All shunt lines run in a plane parallel to that of busbars.
