Electrohydraulic vibrator with flexible diaphragms - allowing transmission of axial motion but prevents any lateral motion

The electro-hydraulic vibrator has a base (2) with an electrically operated slide valve (1) which controls the flow of oil through the passages (9) and (10) to the chamber (11). The flexible diaphragm (3) which seals the chamfer (11) is secured to the base with the clamping ring (4) and bolts (13) and leakage is prevented by the seal (14). The diaphragm is attached by the bolt (5) to the disc (6) and slide (7) to which the vibration is transmitted. The thinner flexible diaphragm (18) which may be soldered or welded to the central bolt (5) and to the clamping ring (4) prevents any lateral motion of the slide (7). Rotation of the slide (7) is prevented by the dowel pin (21).
