The wire cable (12) is suspended over pulleys (14) on two upright posts (16) approximately 15 metres apart, these posts being adjustable for height. Each post has a pointed lower end and is maintained upright by a stay (18). The wire has weights (20) attached to cords at its ends, hanging parallel to the posts to hold the wire taut. The ball (22) is attached (26) to a cord (24) swivelling (28) on a cradle which can slide along the wireshaped length of wire (30) with end suspension loops (32), or a tube. Players hit the ball along the length of the wire.
