Fuel economy for power generation - thermal units insered in distribution network store and release energy

Savings in fuel consumption can be made by building "thermal groups" at selected places in the distribution network. The thermal groups are made up of a heat engine, using any type of fuel, coupled to an electric generator with special arrangements to minimise heat losses. The groups are placed in an insulated sound-proof enclosure. Some of the recovered energy is stored in reservoirs in the form of hot water, the heat being used to meet variable and sudden demands. This system is using groups is applicable to all situations where heating is required. A group may be air cooled, and the air recirculated for heating.
