The collar is intended to be worn by sheep enclosed by a conventional electric fence, the collar enhancing the effect of the electrical shock caused by the fence. The collar (1) is of such a width that it can move freely on the animals neck, and comprises an antenna (2) which may include one or more electrical sensors (3) capped by protective tips (4). The sensors are in an electrically conductive material which is resilient, e.g. stainless or spring steel. Where the antenna is transformed into the collar, a device (6) adjust the size of the collar so that contact surface (7) is directly touching the bare neck of the animal. A weight (8) diametrically opposed to device (6) keeps the latter pressed against the skin, and maintains the antenna in an upright position.
