Detergent or detergent auxiliary for textiles washed in washing machine contains an insol., inorg. cation exchanger (I) bonded to an insoluble support, and can be added to textiles charged to washing machine or fitted onto washing machine so that it comes into contact with wash-liq. during or before washing. Bonding of (I) reduces concn. of insol. ion exchanger particles in washing machine, and reduces quantity of particles deposited as residue on textiles or entering into waste-water.
