Attachment of threaded bunghole collar to drum - flanged collar welded all round to drum wall

To secure a bunghole collar to a steel drum where, in a known manner, the collar is internally threaded to receive the bung or plug and fixed by its bottom rim to the rim of the opening in the drum, the collar (3) has a flange (7) extending horizontally outwards all round, which is held against the interior of a recess in the drum wall, while a ring electrode is employed to weld the flange to the drum wall. In an alternative method, the collar fits against the outside of a recess in the drum wall, for welding.
