The building sits on a reinforced concrete foundation (15). The part that bears on the foundation is series of metal plate (14) and these plates are joined to the bottom of columns. The columns consist of either I or U shaped sections and have holes (13) drilled in their webs to accommodate services. The beams are of similar shape. Under the floor (17) there is a layer of insulating material (18) and a waterproof membrane (19). The space between the cladding is filled with insulating material, the cladding and insulating material being supported by a sub-frame formed from e.g. wooden planks (3) extending between the columns or beams and secured by screws and brackets.
