Device for protection against skin complaints and pains for persons with amputated limbs and wearing false limbs covers only the upper region of the stump over a height of 3-5 cm. The device comprises in its lower region a ring having a dia. of 7 cm. and a height of 8 cm. approx., while in its upper region is a wide flat band having a height of 15 cm. approx. The device is the same for sockets for the thigh, leg, arm or forearm. The device owes its effectiveness to the elasticity of the threads used and adapts itself to the stump and to the false limb by stretching. It may be manufactured by knitting or weaving from materials other than silk, nylon or polyamide having similar properties of elasticity, the shape and proportions in no way altering the principle of the invention.
