Electrical switch designed to make it impossible for a child to operate with only one hand, ie. the design is intended for applications where one hand could be injured as the other operates the switch. Two separate elements must be operated simultaneously to complete the electrical circuit. The spacing of the two activating elements (23, 24) in the form of spring returned buttons is critical in that only a normal adult hand should be able to reach both simultaneously, the spacing being between 13 cm and 15 cm. The buttons are monostable and may be situated on a flat surface or on two sides of a corner, each button, in one form, completing one part of a series circuit when depressed.
