Steel building of semi-circular cross section - has bolted sectional construction with tubular support arches and double sheeting

The steel building of semi-circular cross section is of site bolted sectional construction, and uses tubular arches supporting double sheeting, thus obtaining a structural form which is suitable for a wide range of spans. The arches may be built up from equal chord lengths of rectangular hollow cross-section with connections made by bolted longitudinal tie plates. Each chord joint may also include a pedestal seat plate for the bolted reception of roof sheeting. The roof sheeting may comprise galvanised panels of circular segmental form which are overlain by sheet steel. The edgs of roof sheeting panels may coincide with the chord joints and the steel sheeting may be of undulating trapezoidal section and be nailed to the panels.
