The forklift truck attachment comprises a telescopic and derricking boom (9) on the fork slide, on the end of which is a working platform (12), automatically kept horizontal whatever the boom angle. The mechanical electrical and hydraulic drives of the attachment are connected to the corresponding power sources in the truck (1). The platform can have a first control unit moving it up and down and altering the boom length, and a second one allowing limited opening of the hydraulic valves in the event of power failure, so that the platform can be lowered and the boom retracted and brought to the horizontal position.
