The drilling bit has a coupling 14 for drill pipe 16 which passes through the passage and at the top end of the pile there is a connection 20 for a suspension 18 on the drive head 8 of the drilling bit which prevents rotation of the pile. The drilling bit of the embodiment described has extensible cutters 6, 6a and the drill pipe is connected to a flushing facility 9.
