摘要
1440246 Cast iron production LA BONVARITE 14 June 1973 [15 June 1972] 28343/73 Heading C7D Cast iron is produced from a heterogeneous charge including iron and/or steel by charging alternate layers of raw material and fuel e.g. coke into a cupola furnace to which are introduced ozone and at least compound liberating nitrogen and a halogen at the melting temperature. Suitable nitrogen-liberating compounds are ammonia, hydrazine or an organic compound such as nitrobenzene, while the halogen-liberating compound may be methyl chloride chlorobenzene or fluorobenzene, or other solvent for a distillation produced of coal, wood or natural resin, which product may be introduced into the furnace to increase the carbon content of the iron. Alternative solvents are isocyclohexane, toluol or seylol. Alternatively where carbon content is to be reduced a substance liberating oxygen at the melting temperature may be introduced. In the melting process a series of graphs are first produced relating charge composition to the liquidus temperature as a function of eutectic point and these curves are then used to provide iron having a liquidus temperature corresponding to the desired tensile strength.
