1449768 Synergistic herbicide compositions CIBA-GEIGY AG 18 Jan 1974 [19 Jan 1973] 2399/74 Heading A5E A liquid herbicidal composition comprises (A) at least one compound of the formula: (I) X-O-CH2-CH2-O-R wherein X is an alkyl or alkoxyethyl radical, and R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxyethyl radical, the said alkyl radicals and alkoxy moieties of the alkoxyethyl radicals containing one to four carbon atoms, said compound of formula I being present in the composition as an active herbicidal ingredient, and (B) an additional organic herbicidal agent, differing from (A); component (A) being present in an amount of 30 to 99% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition and the composition being in the form of a homogeneous solution. Component (B) may be selected from 3-amino-1, 2, 4-triazole, herbicidal derivatives of uracil, N, N-dimethyl-N'- phenylurea and its herbicidal derivatives, 2, 6- dichlorobenzonitrile, thiocarboalkoxy disulphides, dithiocarbamates, quaternary bipyridilium salts, 7-oxabicyclo-(2, 2, 1)-heptane-2, 3- dicarboxylic acid and its disodium salt, halogenated benzoic acids, their herbicidal salts and their herbicidal esters, halogenated phenoxyalganoic acids and ther herbicidal salts and esters, and herbicidal symmetrical triazines. Specified components (A) are 2-methoxyethanol. 2-ethoxyethanol and 2-butoxyethanol.
