1467673 Sunscreen composition UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA REGENTS OF 7 May 1974 [8 May 1973] 20090/74 Heading A5B Human skin is protected from actinic radiation and/or coloured to resemble sun tan by applying to the skin lime spaced applications of two compositions, (a) a composition comprising at least one compound which is dihydroxyacetone, 5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-furaldehyde, pyruvic aldehyde, glyceraldehyde, alloxan or monohydroxyacetone with, one or more pharmaceutical carriers or excipients, and (b) a composition comprising one or more quinones which are dermatologically compatible with the human skin and which are alpha- or beta-lautomers of a 1, 4-benzoquinone or a 1, 4-naphthoquinone, with one or more pharmaceutical carriers or excipients, the composition (a) being free from quinones (b) and composition (b) being free from active ingredients (a). Application of compositions (a) and (b) may take place with an interval of at least 15 minutes. The quinone may be lawsone or juglone. The two compositions may be supplied in the form of a two part pack.
