摘要
1,160,046. Polyolefin catalyst. GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. 22 April, 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 18864/68. Heading C3P. A polymerization catalyst comprises (a) an organometallic compound of a Group III A (Mendeleef) metal (b) a halide of a metal of Group IV B , V B or VI B (c) an additive selected from polyamines, polyethers, aminoethers, aminoalcohols and hydroxyethers which chelate metals and (d) zinc or cadmium halide which is preferably used in an amount to lower the molecular weight appreciably but not reduce isotacticity more than five per cent. The preferred combination is triethyl aluminium, titanium trichloride, N,N,NSP1/SP,NSP1/SP-tetramethylmethylenediamine and zinc chloride and this may be used to polymerize a mono 1 olefin of three to eight carbon atoms . In the examples, using the above preferred catalyst combination in pentane, propylene monomer is continuously polymerized to produce polypropylene of high isotacticity. The polymer is treated with methanol and 2,4-pentanedione to facilitate catalyst removal.
