A slide projector for automatic slide changing has an auxiliary opening for the manual insertion and removal of single slides inserted in a surrounding frame type push control. This control activates a positioning level by a peg which is attached to a positioning sleeve. The blind used to cut off the projected light from the screen during slide changing is controlled by a three armed controller which is swung out of the light path by contact being made between the lower edge of the positioning sleeve and another edge on the blind controlling three armed piece. A return button for the shutter blind is also present.
