Shaving apparatus with a removable protective cover which comprises parts with contrasting external appearance, i.e. a central part with transparent uncoloured material, with an edge connecting to the central part for clamping the cover on the housing of the apparatus, which is of coloured material. The central transparent part is of plastic, whilst the clamping edge part is of metal, or alternatively both parts can be of plastic, or the edge part can be another material with a high degree of elasticity. The dual colour arrangement permits easy detection should the cover be dropped on the ground.
