1451440 Emulsifying agent SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 12 Dot 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 55614/72 Addition to 1280259 Heading B1V A composition suitable for emulsifying oil comprises a monoester having an average molecular weight (M.W.) of at least 530 of an aliphatic carboxylic acid and a polyoxyalkylene glycol, a monoester 'having an average M.W. of below 530 of an aliphatic carboxylic acid and a polyoxyalkylene glycol, the average M.W. of the mixture being from 430 to 680, and a liquid hydrocarbon solvent containing from 0 to 10% of aromatics. The monoesters may form 5 to 50% of the composition which is suitable for dispersing oil slicks in sea water.
