1523419 Retractive switches MIDLANDROSS CORP 8 March 1977 [2 April 1976] 09763/77 Heading H1N A touch sensitive device for mounting on an edge of a vehicle door comprises an elongate flexible housing 6, one side 12 of which is rigidly supported by a door edge and the distal side 8 of which flexes in response to manual pressure to operate an electrical switch 26 received within a passageway 8 in the distal side 8, the switch 26 controlling an electronic circuit for a door opening mechanism. A switch operating cable 29 is anchored at one end of the passageway 8 and is biased by a spring 32 at the other end to hold a plunger 44 of the switch 26 in a closed or open position, the switch 26 assuming the other position upon deflection of the distal side 8 of the housing 6. The switch 26 and cable 29 are adjustable towards and away from each other.
