1409990 Nicotinic acid ester POLI INDUSTRIA CHIMICA SpA 12 March 1974 [12 March 1973] 11060/74 Heading C2C The novel nicotinate of trans-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanol, and its non-toxic acid addition salts, are prepared by esterifying trans-3,3,5- trimethylcyclohexanol with a derivative of nicotinic acid, e.g. nicotinoyl chloride hydrochloride, and optionally converting a resulting salt to the free base or vice versa. Pharmaceutical compositions having vasodilatory, spasmolytic and hyplipemiant activity comprise one of the above novel compounds as active ingredient.
