摘要
The fireplace in eg a living room is designed to recouperate some of the waste heat which is lost out the chimney. A fan (2) mounted in an under floor duct (1) blows cold air from the room through a set of vertical tubes (4) behind the fireplace which discharge into a hood at the top. The lower parts of these tubes pass behind the heating zone and discharge into a collector (5) at the top. This is followed by a restriction (6) which speeds up the flow, and the air which is now heated enters a collector (7) and is discharged sideways through the sides of the hood, back into the room. A flap (11) is mounted at the open bottom of the hood. In another design, cold air can be collected from another room, and all or part returned to that room through suitable ducts.
