Automatic liq. level detector - employs reflecting glass level detector for low intensity light when level is high

An automatic level detector delivers a control signal or measurement signal when a predetermined level has been achieved. A liquid level is observed on closed circuit TV by using a reflecting level indicator. A reflection level (1) is observed by a detector (D) comprising a luminous source (2) whose output is concentrated into a beam (3) and directed onto a reflecting glass. When the liquid (4) level is higher than the reflecting glass it appears black thus the beam (5) directed onto a photocell (6) is of low intensity. A high intensity beam is reflected when the level is low and an amplifier (7) then drives a relay (8) coil (9) to close the relay contact (10).
