Railway wagon gas suspension system emergency support - with open gap width exceeded by vertical travel of gas suspension bellows

In the gas suspension system for railway rolling-stock gas suspension bellows and emergency supports are fitted between the wagon frame and running-gear frame, the former frame being connected to the latter by a rotating hinge joint between the suspension bellows, which are built in near the running gear lengthways beams. The resilient emergency supports (3) are built in, firstly between the suspension bellows (1) and the hinge (4), and secondly directly between the wagon frame (6) and the frame of the running-gear (8). In between, the support has an open gap and the width of this is exceeded by the vertical suspension travel of the gas suspension bellows.
