1337247 Seat belt warning system apparatus HONDA GIKEN KOGYO KK 26 May 1972 [7 June 1971] 25091/72 Heading B7H A seat belt warning apparatus that indicates when a belt is not in use comprises a switch 3 closed when an occupant 2 is on the seat 1 and a switch 8 closed when the seat belt 6 is drawn out. When the vehicle to which the apparatus is fitted is unoccupied the switches 3 and 8 are open, such that contact arms 19, 20 are open to prevent operation of a warning device 21 if ignition switch 22 is closed. If seat 1 is occupied, switch 3 is closed to energize a relay 14 through normally closed contact 17, such that contact 16 is closed to close contact 19. Relay 14 is held energized through contact 16. If the switch 22 is closed, a warning is given by device 21 that the belt is not in use. When belt 6 is drawn out switch 8 closes to energize a relay 15 to open and close contacts 17, 20 respectively so that the device 21 does not operate when the switch 22 is closed. Should the belt 6 be drawn out, but the seat 1 not be occupied or be subsequently occupied a warning is also given.
