High temp. furnace with protective atmosphere or vacuum - has uncooled heating coil serving simultaneously as radiator and inductor

The furnace is intended for temperatures up to 3000 deg.C. It has a frequency generator, or converter, and a heating coil in a furnace chamber, which surrounds the substance to be heated. The gap between the coil and heated substance is free of solid dielectric. The multi-layer, uncooled graphite coil (8) serves simultaneously as a heating inductor and radiator. A carbon, or graphite, high-ohmic, thermally insulating layer (2, 3) surrounds the coil. Preferably the insulating layer is of graphtie foils and carbon, or graphite felt.
