The hammer mill for stone etc., has a vertical drive shaft (3) carrying a drive plate (7) attached to the underside of a cup-shaped holder (8), inside which fits a distributor plate (13) carrying a set of V-shaped impact members (11). The stone is crushed in the ring-shaped space between these impact members and an outer ring. This crushing chamber is located between the distributor plate (13) and a pair of cover plates (18, 21) surrounded by an outer ring (9) with a feed gap between the outer ring and the cover plates. These have a set of pillars (10) between them, retaining the V-shaped impact members. The latter are prevented from lifting by upper and lower spacers (14, 20) each consisting of a set of segments forming a ring.
