The apparatus for releasing pneumatically actuated emergency opening mechanisms for roof lights and fume doors is designed so that it can be reliably and simply restored to the operational state after a releasing action. A compressed gas cartridge is pierced by a pin and the triggering arrangement breaks a glass bulb. The piercing pin (1) is held at rest by a spring (2). This pin is held by a notch (1a) in a lever (5) and the pin is restored by a lever (12) into the spring loaded position. The system is triggered by the fracturing of the glass bulb (7).
