Gas pressure regulator of compact construction - uses pressure sampling membrane and auxiliary pressure controlled valve

A gas pressure regulator is of partic. compact construction requiring few components. It uses a comparison membrane (36) to sense the position of a control element and, if required, to apply an auxiliary pressure which adjusts the valve control position via an actuating membrane (44). The auxiliary pressure regulator is built into the membrane plate (13) and the operating stem (9) of the breech (7). The gas whose pressure is to be regulated passes through the bore (12) of the operating stem (9) to the jet (19). The auxiliary pressure regulating cap (23) contains a control jet (24) and a breech (25). The position of the control element is detected via the breech (37) and the stem (27).
