The appliance is for the determination of correct shoe size, esp. for children. It has a step-in shape for the foot to be tested. There is a base plate (2) with inset step- in forms (3-5), corresponding to different shoe sizes. The appliance is integral, and deep drawn. It may be formed as a cover for a shoe box. The step-in forms have stepped sides, each step corresponding to a certain shoe width. The appliance is transparent, at least in the area of the step-in forms.
