Yarn dyeing device is provided with a hermetically sealable housing in which is located a yarn winding device supporting a winding bobbin adjacent which terminate yarn treating media supply lines. Yarn can be exposed to longer treatment periods. Device includes a lower housing portion connected pivotally to an upper housing portion through the intermediary of a sealing strip, the housing enclosing a friction drive roller co-operating with a pressure roller in the form of a spindle whose bias may be adjusted by an externally settable wt. Yarn is supplied from a twisting spindle to a treating media coating device and then to a slip feeding roller assembly. The yarn is then passed through a nozzle which may supply hot air or saturated steam to the yarn reciprocated by a guide prior to winding on the bobbin. Yarn is subjected to drying by infra-red heater assembly. Auxiliary gaseous medium is supplied by a line and exhausted by line.
