Foamed concrete and plaster composite constructional element - mfd. by casting plaster around foamed concrete core

A foamed concrete constructional element which is clad on one or two sides with a layer of plaster is described. The composite element is mfd. by placing the foamed concrete core in a mould and pouring a plaster/water mixt. into the space(s) between the core and the mould wall and allowing it to harden. The composite has better sound insulating properties and the end wall does not need to be coated compared with a foamed concrete element of the same thickness. The composite has improved thermal and acoustic insulation compared with an element made entirely of plaster. Drying costs are also eliminated. The composite can be easily sawn and nailed except in certain cases when thicker plaster layers are required e.g. as flooring elements.
