Distn. residues resulting from working up of technical polyisocyanates are recovered as solns. in fluorochloro-or fluorobromo-alkanes of 1-3C atoms. Solid residues remaining after distn. of poly-partic. di-isocyanates are obtd. as solns. which can be reused as foaming agents in polyurethane foam prodn. The solns., partic. using CFCl3 as solvent, have relatively low viscosity and can be used in known polyurethane processes. The solvent used in a functional component of known mixts. for polyurethane foam prodn.
