摘要
The outer wall of the mould is pref. provided with a row of coolant channels which possess a width and height much smaller than the length of the mould, the coolant flowing through the channels. The coefft. of heat transfer from the mould to the coolant is different in each channel and controlled so that a constant heat flux density is obtd. The temp. difference between the melt and the cooling water at the mould inlet is larger than the temp. difference between the partly solidified metal and the cooling water at the mould outlet, so as constant heat flux density should be used if max. output, e.g. of steel slabs, is to be obtd.
