Measurement probe for velocity and temp. of fluids - has thermoelement on thin plate with edge heating foil

The temp. and velocity measuring probe for turbulent media e.g. airflow, consists of a thin flat plate (S) whose leading edge contains a heating foil (b). Some distance (L) along the plate's longitudinal axis is a thermo-element which measures the actual temp. of the carrier plate. The distance between the temp. sensor and the foil is chosen to avoid temp. gradients along the direction of flow. To improve the accuracy of the device, the shape of the leading edge of the foil is made either hemispherical or in the form of a double wedge with rounded corners.
