The shopping trolley has a locked compartment. The wire basket of the trolley is connected by support arms to the frame with wheels. The compartment with lockable door is arranged into the space formed by support arms. The locking compartment is not necessarily opened only by the sales personnel. However, the customer is not able to remove, for example, shopping bags unobserved from the compartment. The floor of the wire basket (1) above the compartment has an opening (7). This opening is closed by a grill (8) hinged on the trolley floor. The hinged grill has members (10) with spaces (11) between them, and is held in a catch in closed condition and with a flexible catch for releasing.
