Stereophonic headphones with improved bass response - have two additional bass radiators close to ears in acoustic canals

The headphone with improved bass response consists of two acoustic channels, one on each side of the listener's head. The channels are horizontal and parallel to the listener's ears. The front end of each canal carries a normal loudspeaker (4)- one for each channel of a stereophonic system. The inner walls of the canals have recesses for the ears or, alternatively, exterior ear pads. To improve the bass response of the device, additional bass radiators (3) are arranged inside the canals somewhat nearer to the listener's ears than are the normal loudspeakers (4). Crossover filters are used with each additional speaker.
